Can I just say how glad I am for the internet? So that I can see and read about these wonderful adventures and experiences you're having? I'm glad you make friends so quickly and easily too. The friendships you've made have have led to some of the best experiences as well!

Marina Bay Sands was huge, but beautiful, and even though I was sick during our stay, I was very grateful for room service and the amazing bathtub and shower. Heavenly! I am so glad we were able to make friends with Peter and Pyn's family. We were really lucky to meet them while we were eating lunch at the same restaurant near our apartment. As it turned out, they were staying at the same apartments in the room number next to ours. They were so nice to invite us to spend time with them at the fish farm. I agree that it was some of the freshest and best tasting seafood I've ever had.

That does look lovely! And what fun to go to the fish farm! I'm glad you are all enjoying your time there, and that Jen is feeling better. It's great that you guys makes friends so easily and quickly. It takes me forever to make friends, so I think that would be the hardest part for me if I had the opportunity to travel and be location independent like you are. Well, that and lack of sufficient funds. :)

I love elephants... they are such amazing creatures. I would love to visit an elephant sanctuary! How fun that you guys were able to ride them :) Too bad Aysia didn't like it. Maybe she would have liked it if she had socks or shoes on, so she didn't feel the skin. Haha
LOVE the pictures. In the one where Jen is touching the elephant's ear, it looks like the elephant is smiling :)

I really enjoyed visiting this elephant sanctuary. It was so nice to see all the sweet elephants, and a lot of fun to feed them too. I thought the museum was nice and very educational. I'm not sure why Aysia didn't like the elephant ride. It may have had something to do with not liking the texture of the elephant touching her feet. She also cries whenever we attempt to stand her on the shaggy rug here in the living room of our apartment.

Yeah! It's an elephant post! I was hoping you'd write about this experience. I can totally relate to your frustration with the deforestation... I feel the same way even around here when I see ancient evergreens razed to the ground to make way for office buildings or neighborhoods. And we aren't even dislocating elephants...

When you visit Thailand, as I'm sure you will, look into elephant ride tours there. I know Margie and her family did one through the jungle.... was a highlight of their time there.

Poor Aysia...

Hi Lizzie. Congratulations on the new job! If you're moving to KL, you probably won't need to worry about getting a car. The public transportation is great, especially the trains. It's one of our favorite cities for many reasons. Enjoy!
