Today we totally took it easy after having a long, but wonderful day before. We had breakfast in our pajamas again. Then we had the people at the hotel do our laundry. Jen was thrilled that she didn’t have to do it herself. We then wrote and read blogs and I did some computer work and e-mailing. The girls ran around in the yard here and played hide and seek, watched cartoons, and played in pool.
We finally got all caught up on our computer stuff around 3:00pm, and went out to lunch again at the Amador causeway. We really had no plans, so the taxi driver dropped us off at a fun restaurant called “Barco” (boat). They had a couple parrots in a cage there which talked to the girls. One said “Hello” whenever the girls got close, and as they started walking away, it would screech, “COME BACK!!!” It was really funny. Jen and I had a sweet & sour mahi mahi dish with yucca fries, and the girls had chicken fingers. Very delicious.
Then we took another walk on the causeway, and did some shopping. Jen did find a swimsuit she liked. The prices here were a bit more expensive than shops in the mall, as it’s kind of a touristy area, but Jen still found a really nice swimsuit for $14. We let the girls play a bit on a swing set/slide that was in the parking lot. They had a lot of fun imagining they were on a boat. Marie was the captain. It’s so fun to hear them play. Jen and I held hands, walked around and cuddled. It had gotten a bit dark, and it was quite romantic with the lights from the ships on the water.
After that we had more ice cream and smoothies, and came back to our hotel. The girls watched more cartoons and Jen and I blogged out in the courtyard, where we spotted a few interesting bugs. One was a giant cockroach – eww. The other was a cute little tiny, light-colored lizard – too fast for me to photograph.
It was a very fun and relaxing day – the kind that I think vacations are all about. I haven’t felt so happy and relaxed in a long time. I’m so glad to be with Jen and our girls here. It’s so beautiful, and so nice to just be able to enjoy being together without worries of time constraints or activities. Tomorrow, we leave Balboa Inn for our next hotel which is more in the downtown area of Panama City. We’ll keep you posted.
